Psalm 20 ©
A blessing and prayer of the church for king David, being to go forth into battle; with a firm confidence of victory and triumph, through the heavenly King, the Messiah.
To the 1chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
THE LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the 2name of the God of Jacob 3defend 4thee;
Send thee 5help from the 6sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
7Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy 8burnt sacrifice; 9Selah.
Grant thee according to thine own 10heart, and 11fulfil all thy counsel.
12We will rejoice in 13thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will 14set up our banners: the LORD 15fulfil all thy petitions.
Now know I that the LORD 16saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his 17holy heaven with the 18saving strength of his right hand.
19Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
They are 20brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
21Save, LORD: let the king 22hear us when we call.
