1 Thessalonians 1 ©
1 The salutation. 2 Paul sheweth his thankful remembrance of the Thessalonians in his prayers on account of their faith, charity, and patience; 5 applauding them for their exemplary reception of the gospel, and improvement under it.
gWe give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
Remembering without ceasing hyour work of faith, and labour of love, and ipatience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, jin the sight of God and our Father;
kKnowing, 1brethren beloved, your election of God.
For lour gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy *Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know mwhat *manner of men we were among you for your sake.
And vto wait for his Son from heaven, wwhom he raised from the dead, even xJesus, ywhich delivered us from the wrath to come.
