Micah 4 ©

A prophecy of the future glory, spreading abroad, and peaceable, blessed condition of the kingdom of the Messiah among the converted Jews and Gentiles, v. 1, etc. A comfort for the Jewish church against the approaching Babylonian captivity, by the assurance of the final deliverance from and victory upon all the church her enemies, by means of the presence and power of her King Christ, 9.

1

BUT ina the 1last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the 2top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

2

And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

3

¶And he shall judge among 3many people, and 4rebuke strong nations 5afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,b and their spears into pruninghooks: 6nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

4

7But they shall sit every man under his vinec and under his fig tree; and 8none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath 9spoken it.

5

For 10all people will walk every one in the name of his 11god, and 12we will walk in the 13name of the LORD our God 14for ever and ever.

6

In that day, saith the LORD, will I assembled her 15that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have 16afflicted;

7

And I will 17make here that halted a 18remnant, and her that was cast far off a 19strong nation: and the LORD 20shall reignf over them in mount Zion from 21henceforth, even for ever.

8

¶And thou, O 22tower of the flock, the 23strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the 24first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the 25daughter of Jerusalem.

9

Now why dost 26thou 27cry out aloud? is there no 28kingg in thee? is thy 29counseller perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.

10

Be in pain, and labour 30to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for 31now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the 32field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the 33LORD shall redeem thee from the 34hand of thine enemies.

11

¶Now also many nations are gathered against 35thee, that say, Let her be 36defiled, and let our eye 37look upon Zion.

12

But 38they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the 39sheaves into the floor.h

13

40Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will 41make thine 42horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their 43gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lordi of the whole earth.
