*Psalm 25 ©
David, being distressed by his enemies and persecutors, takes his refuge to God, confesses his sins, prays for mercy and forgiveness, and that God would teach him and lead him in His ways, according as He was wont to do to His (own), as likewise to deliver him from his enemies and to preserve His entire church.
A Psalm of David.
UNTO thee, O LORD, do I 1lift up my soul.
O my God, I trust ina thee: let me not be 2ashamed, let not mine 3enemies triumph 4over me.
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed:b let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
5Shewc me thy 6ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Lead me in thy 7truth, and teach me: for thou art the 8God of my salvation; on 9thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for theydhave been 10ever of old.
Remember not the sins of my 11youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach 12sinners in the way.
The 13meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
All the 14paths of the LORD are mercy and 15truth unto such as keep his 16covenant and his testimonies.
For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is 17great.
18What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall 19choose.
His soul shall 20dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The 21secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will 22shew them his covenant.
Mine 23eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the 24net.
25Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am 26desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are 27enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
28Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and 29forgive all my sins.
30Consider mine enemies; for they 31are many; and they hate me with 32cruel hatred.
O keep my 33soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Let integrity and 34uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Redeem 35Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
