Psalm 47 ©
A triumph-psalm of the church to the honor of their King Jesus Christ, for His ascension to heaven, typified by the bringing up of the ark of the covenant into Zion and into the temple; with an exhortation to all nations and a prophecy of the calling of the Gentiles.
To the 1chief Musician, A Psalm for the 2sons of Korah.
O CLAP 3your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
He 4shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
He 5shall choose our inheritance for us, the 6excellency of Jacob whom he 7loved. 8Selah.
God 9is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with 10understanding.
God reigneth over the 11heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
The 12princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God 13of Abraham: for the 14shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
