A beast with seven heads and ten horns riseth out of the sea, to whom the dragon giveth his power, wherewith he blasphemeth God, and vexeth the saints. Another beast cometh up out of the earth, which supporteth the worship of the former beast. The number of the beast.
qHe that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. rHere is the patience and the faith of the saints.
And ydeceiveth them that dwell on the earth zby the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to athem that dwell on the earth, bthat they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
cAnd he had power to give 4life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and dcause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
And that no man might buy or sell, *save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or fthe number of his name.
