Ephesians 6 ©

1 The relative duties of children, 4 and parents; 5 of servants, 9 and masters. 10 Paul exhorteth the brethren to resist spiritual enemies by putting on the whole armour of God, 18 and by perseverance in prayer, which he requireth for all saints, and particularly for himself, that he might preach the gospel with due boldness. 21 He commendeth Tychicus, 23 and concludeth with good wishes to all sincere Christians.

CHILDREN, aobey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

bHonour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

And, cye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and dadmonition of the Lord.

eServants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, fwith fear and trembling, in gsingleness of your heart, has unto Christ;

h Ro. 14.6,8.

Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as ithe servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

jWith good will doing service, kas to the Lord, and not to men:

Knowing lthat whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

mAnd, ye masters, do the same things unto them, 1forbearing threatening: knowing that 2your Master also is in heaven; nneither is there respect of persons with him.

Finally, my brethren, obe strong in the Lord, and in pthe power of his might.

qPut on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the rwiles of the devil.

For swe wrestle not against 3flesh and blood, but against tprincipalities, against powers, against uthe rulers of the darkness of this world, against 4spiritual wickedness in 5high places.

Wherefore vtake unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the wevil day, and 6having done all, to stand.

v v.11.

Stand therefore, xhaving your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

yAnd your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

zAbove all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take athe helmet of salvation, and bthe sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

cPraying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and dwatching thereunto with eall perseverance and supplication for fall saints;

gAnd for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may hopen my mouth boldly, to make known the imystery of the gospel,

For which I am jan ambassador 7in bonds: that 8therein I may speak boldly, as I kought to speak.

lBut that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, mTychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

nWhom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

oPeace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

pGrace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ 9in sincerity. Amen.
