A1 Song of degrees.
LORD,23remember David, and all his afflictions:
How he sware unto the LORD, and 4vowed unto 5the mighty God of Jacob;
6Surelya I will not come into the tabernacle 7of my house, nor go up 8into my bed;
I will not give 9sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I 10find out 11a place 12for the LORD, an 13habitation 14for the mighty God of Jacob.
Lo, we heard 15of it 16at Ephratah: 17we found it in the fields of 18the wood.
We will go into 19his tabernacles: we will worship 20at 21his footstool.
22Arise, O LORD, 23into thy rest; 24thou, and the ark of thy strength.
Let thy priests 25be clothed with righteousness; and let 26thy saints shout for joy.
27For thy servant David’s sake 28turn not away the face of thine 29anointed.
The LORD hath sworn in 30truth unto David; he will not turn from it; 31Of the fruit of thy body will 32I setb upon thy throne.
If thy children will keep 33my covenant and 34my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne 35for evermore.
For the LORD hath chosen 36Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.
Thiscis my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I 37have desired it.
I will 38abundantly bless 39her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe herd priests 40with salvation: and 41her saints shall shout 42aloud for joy.
43Theree will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained 44a lamp for 45mine anointed.
His enemies will 46I clothe 47with shame: but upon himself 48shall his crown 49flourish.
