1 God's judgment against oppression. 4 A lamentation for the removal of his people. 7 A reproof for their injustice and delight in false prophets. 12 A promise of restoration.
WOE to them that adevise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because bit is in the power of their hand.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; dBehold, against this efamily do I devise an evil, ffrom which ye shall not remove your necks; gneither shall ye go haughtily: for hthis time is evil.
¶In that day shall one take up ia parable against you, and lament 2with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: jhe hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! 3turning away he hath divided our fields.
rEven 7of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe 8with the garment from them that pass by *securely as men averse from war.
The 9women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
¶I xwill surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; yI will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall zmake great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
The abreaker is come up before them: bthey have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and ctheir king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
