Amos 7 ©
1 The judgment of the grasshoppers, 4 and of the fire, are diverted by the intercession of Amos. 7 By a wall and plumbline is signified the desolation of Israel. 10 Amaziah complaineth of Amos, and forbiddeth him to prophesy at Beth-el. 14 Amos sheweth his calling, 16 and the judgment upon Amaziah.
The LORD erepented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.
The iLORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.
¶Then Amaziah othe priest of Beth-el sent to pJeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos qhath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
But prophesy not again any more at Beth-el: wfor it is the king's 4chapel, and it is the 5king's court.
And the LORD took me 7as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, zGo, prophesy unto my people Israel.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; cThy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and dthy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a epolluted land: and Israel fshall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
