Psalm 147 ©
The prophet exhorts the people to magnify God’s Name by reason of His care over His church, His wisdom, power, grace and government over all to the praise of His Name and the salvation of the faithful.
PRAISE ye the LORD: for it is 1good to sing praises unto our God; 2for it is pleasant; and 3praisea is comely.
4The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together 5the outcasts of Israel.
6He healeth the broken in heart, and 7bindethb up their wounds.
Hec telleth the number of the stars; 8he calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and 9of great power: 10his understanding is infinite.
The LORD lifteth up 11the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
12Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
13Whod covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, whoe maketh 14grass to grow upon the mountains.
He giveth to the beast 15his food, and 16to the young ravens which cry.
He delighteth not in the strength 17of the horse: he taketh not pleasure 18in the legs of a man.
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Praise the LORD, O 19Jerusalem; praise thy God, O 20Zion.
For 21he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
22He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with 23the finest of the wheat.
He sendeth forth 24his commandment upon earth: 25his wordf runneth very swiftly.
26He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
He casteth forth 27his ice like morsels: 28who can stand before his cold?
29He sendeth out his word, and 30melteth them: he causeth 31his wind to blow, and 32the waters flow.
33He sheweth his word unto 34Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto 35Israel.
36He hathg not dealt so with any nation: 37and as for his judgments, they have not known them. 38Praise ye the LORD.
