Psalm 120 ©
A prayer against evil tongues or false slanderers; together with a complaint of the psalmist that he necessarily had to associate with evil men.
A Song 1of degrees.
IN my distress I cried unto the LORD, and 2he heard me.
Deliver 3my soul, Oa LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
4What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
5Sharpb arrows of the mighty, with 6coals of 7juniper.
Woe is me, that I sojourn 8in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of 9Kedar!
10My soul hath long dwelt 11with him that hateth peace.
12I am for peace: but 13when I speak, they are for war.
