1Christ fasteth forty days, and is tempted of the devil. 14He beginneth to preach: 16the people of Nazareth wonder at his gracious words, but being offended go about to kill him: he escapeth by miracle. 33He casteth out a devil: 38healeth Simon's mother in law, 40and many other diseased persons: 41the devils acknowledging him are silenced: 42he preacheth through the cities of Galilee.

16¶And he came to aNazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and bstood up for to read.

40¶hNow when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with *divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
