Job 34

1Elihu chargeth Job with calling to account God's justice; 10whose sovereign perfections suffer him not to be unjust. 31Man ought to humble himself before God. 34Job is blamed for his rash discourses.


1FURTHERMORE Elihu answered and said,

2Hear my words, O aye wise men ; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

7What man is like Job, who fdrinketh up scorning like water?

13Who nhath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed 4the whole world?

20In ya moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and 7the mighty shall be taken away zwithout hand.

29When lhe giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he mhideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

30nThat the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

31Surely oit is *meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement , I will not offend any more :

3313Should it be according to thy mind? he rwill recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
