1Jeremiah is sent to call the Jews to repentance in order to prevent their captivity. 8Their vain confidence rejected after the example of Shiloh. 17God threateneth them for their idolatry: 21he requireth not the sacrifices of the disobedient. 29A call to mourning for the abominations in Tophet: 32judgments denounced because of them.

17¶ySeest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
