1The calamities of the Jews not owing to want of saving power in God, but to their own enormous sins. 16Salvation cometh of God only. 20The covenant of the Redeemer.

1BEHOLD, the LORD's hand is not ^ashortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

9¶^oTherefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
