Isaiah 56

1An exhortation to holiness of life: 3God promiseth that it shall be accepted without respect of persons. 9The calamities of the church imputed to blind watchmen.


1THUS saith the LORD, aKeep ye 1judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

3¶Neither dlet the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither elet the *eunuch say, Behold, I am fa dry tree.

4For thus saith the LORD unto the *eunuchs gthat keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;

6Also the sons of the stranger, that kjoin themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and lto love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, mevery one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and ntaketh hold of my covenant;

7Even them will I obring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for pmine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

10His twatchmen are ublind: they are all ignorant, they are all vdumb dogs, they cannot bark; 3sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

11Yea, wthey are 4greedy dogs which 5can never have enough, and they are xshepherds that cannot understand: ythey all look to their own way, zevery one for his gain, from his quarter.
