Isaiah

Isaiah 50

1The dereliction of the Jews to be imputed to their own sins, and not to God's inability to save. 4Christ's commission to speak comfort to the weary: 5his patient suffering of indignities, 7and confidence in God's help. 10An exhortation to trust in God, and not in human resources.

1THUS saith the LORD, aWhere is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom bI have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have cye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

2Wherefore, when I dcame, was there eno man? when I called, was there none to answer? fIs my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I gdry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.
