1Solomon's chief officers of state. 7The twelve officers who provided for his household, each in his month. 20The prosperity and grandeur of his kingdom. 22The daily provision for his household, suitable to the extent of his dominions and peacefulness of his reign. 26His stables. 29His extraordinary wisdom.


1SO king Solomon was king over aall Israel.

7¶And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided *victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.

20¶Judah and Israel were ymany, as zthe sand which is by the sea in multitude, aeating and drinking, and making merry.

21And bSolomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they cbrought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

22¶And Solomon's 11provision for one day was thirty 12measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,

24For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from dTiphsah even eto Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and fhe had peace on all sides round about him.

26¶And hSolomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

27And those iofficers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

29¶And jGod gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
