David subdueth the Philistines, and maketh the Moabites tributary. He smiteth Hadarezer and the Syrians. Tou king of Hamath sendeth his son with presents to bless David; who dedicateth the presents, and the spoil which he had taken, to God. He putteth garrisons in Edom. His good reign; a list of his principal officers.
1NOW after this ait came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took bGath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

5And when the Syrians of 3Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David hslew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

9¶Now when 5Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
